The objective of Visual Intelligence Laboratory (VILAB) is to conduct research on computer vision and pattern recognition, specifically human activity recognition, with the applications on human computer interaction, gaming, assistive technologies for elderly people within the scope of the international and industrial research projects at the lab. VILAB's another focus is applications of computer vision in broader areas of precision agriculture, security survelliance and robotic odometry. VILAB is directed by Assist. Prof. Hulya Yalcin, who has over fifteen years of experience in computer vision and machine learning.

Visual Intelligence Laboratory (VILAB) is founded by Assist. Prof. Hulya Yalcin at Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering department in Maslak Campus of Istanbul Technical University in 2013. Dr. Yalcin and her students has been working on human activity recognition, 3d scene understanding problems and applications of computer vision on precision agriculture in this laboratory.
